Help Bring the Savannah Cartography Series to Life
Become a founding supporter of the Savannah Cartography Series, a new collection of original abstract cartography paintings celebrating the history, ecosystems, and cultural heritage of Savannah, Georgia.
This six-painting collection explores the city's winding waterways, salt marshes, historic neighborhoods, and the stories that have shaped Savannah for nearly three centuries. Beginning with real maps and transformed through layered acrylic textures, each painting reflects the relationship between geography, memory, and identity.
Your contribution directly supports the research, design, and creation of the series, including archival materials, studio time, documentation, and exhibition preparation.
As a thank you for supporting independent art, every contributor will receive behind-the-scenes updates throughout the project, offering a first look at sketches, studio progress, and the stories behind each painting. Higher contribution levels include additional rewards such as limited-edition prints, postcard sets, early access to original works, and collector experiences.
Whether you have called Savannah home for decades, discovered its beauty while traveling, or simply believe in preserving meaningful places through art, your support becomes part of the story behind this collection.

Custom Portrait Commission | Engagements, Weddings & Newborns [Frame Not Included]
A hand-painted heirloom created from your photographs and memories
Hand painted by CLR Creations. 100% GENUINE HAND-PAINTED ART.
Every portrait begins on a blank surface and is painted by hand using professional oil or acrylic paints. No printing, digital painting, or photocopying process is used in the finished artwork.
Created with archival-quality materials, each portrait is intended to become more than a record of how someone looked at a particular moment. It is an heirloom that preserves the people, relationships, places, and seasons of life we carry with us.
Portrait Commissions
CLR Creations accepts a limited number of portrait commissions each year, with a special focus on engagements, weddings, and newborns.
Engagement Portraits
Preserve the beginning of a shared chapter through a painting inspired by your engagement photographs. The setting can become an important part of the composition, allowing the landscape, architecture, season, light, and atmosphere surrounding the proposal to remain part of the story.
Wedding Portraits
Transform a favorite wedding photograph into an original painting created to live beyond the wedding album. Portraits may focus closely on the couple or incorporate the landscape and details surrounding the day, from mountain ranges and coastal horizons to gardens, historic architecture, florals, and evening skies.
Newborn & Family Portraits
The earliest days of a child's life pass quietly and quickly. Newborn portraits preserve this fleeting season through soft color, intimate details, and thoughtful observation. These paintings can celebrate a newborn individually or include parents and siblings, creating an heirloom intended to remain within the family for generations.
The Artistic Process
Portraiture is closely connected to the larger themes within my work: memory, identity, place, experience, and the passage of time.
I am interested in the details that make a memory feel alive. The way evening light settled across a wedding landscape. The expression exchanged between two people. The folds of a dress. A newborn's tiny hands. Flowers carried down an aisle. The colors of the sky. The place where an important chapter began.
Your photographs provide the visual reference, while our conversations help me understand the story behind them.
Throughout the process, you are invited into key moments of collaboration. We will discuss your preferred photographs, composition, setting, color palette, mood, and the details that feel most important to preserve. Reference images and progress updates help guide the painting while leaving room for artistic interpretation and the natural character of the materials.
The finished work is not intended to simply reproduce a photograph. It is an artist's interpretation of a memory, created slowly and individually by hand.

How to Order
Select your preferred portrait size and surface, add your personalization, and place your order.
Send a selection of high-resolution photographs from your engagement, wedding, newborn session, or other meaningful occasion. Whenever possible, include several photographs so I can understand the subjects, setting, light, and details of the day.
Within 24–48 hours, I will reach out to begin the collaboration process. We will discuss the story behind the portrait, your preferred composition, colors, atmosphere, and any details you would especially like included.
Once the direction of the painting is established, I will begin creating your portrait by hand. Progress images will be shared at key stages before the work is completed.
Once finished, the painting will be carefully prepared and shipped to you.

Each commission takes approximately 6–8 weeks from execution to delivery.

Sweet Savannah is an original abstract cartography painting celebrating Savannah through color, geography, and memory.
Inspired by the vibrant colors and Southern confections of Savannah’s historic River Street, the painting transforms the city into a candy-colored map of experience. Turquoise waterways move around lavender neighborhoods, bright greens trace the familiar street grid, and warm creams and golden yellows recall pralines fresh from the kettle.
The painting grew from one of my earliest memories of Savannah: visiting River Street Sweets at sixteen and tasting my first warm praline. Years later, the scent of butter, toasted pecans, vanilla, and caramelized sugar still carries me back to that afternoon along the Savannah River.
Within Sweet Savannah, geography becomes a place for memory to settle. The Historic District, waterways, marshes, islands, and coastal landscape remain visible beneath layers of playful color and pattern. Each detail holds something of the city as I have experienced it, shaped by its streets, its water, its traditions, and its sweetness.
This is the original 9 × 12-inch painting, created by hand in acrylic on board in 2026. As a one-of-a-kind work, there is only one original Sweet Savannah available.

Inspired by time spent at Tantalus Estate on Waiheke Island, this piece captures the warmth and quiet discovery of the vineyard landscape. Guided by the layered character of Syrah, deep reds, soft rose tones, and flowing blues move through the composition, echoing the curves of the valley. The work holds a sense of richness and movement, reflecting both the energy of the place and the feeling of a moment that lingers.
Abstract Zone 2024 brings together artists from around the world working across contemporary abstraction in both 2D and 3D media. Presented by Exhibizone, the online exhibition considers color, form, movement, and material as ways of looking beyond direct representation.
Little House, Waiheke Island, New Zealand

A painting shaped by time spent at Casita Miro overlooking the vines and sea of Onetangi. Layers of mineral whites, softened pinks, warm reds, and sunlit golds reflect the vineyard landscape, mosaic surfaces, and the atmosphere of an afternoon shared over rosé, conversation, and shifting coastal light.
Mapping Experience, Shaping Space
Christina Leigh is an artist based in Savannah, Georgia, and the founder of CLR Creations. She creates abstract map paintings inspired by travel and the places that shape our lives. Beginning with real maps, each painting is transformed through layers of texture and color to reflect the memories, experiences, and connections we carry long after a journey has ended. Along with original paintings and fine art prints, Christina creates custom commissions for clients who want to celebrate a place that holds special meaning. Whether it's a hometown, a favorite destination, or the setting of an important life moment, each commissioned painting tells a personal story through the language of maps, memory, and landscape.
