Little House, Waiheke Island, New Zealand original painting

$699.00

This painting was inspired by time spent at Casita Miro, perched high above the vines in the Onetangi wine-growing region of Waiheke Island. Overlooking the village and the sea, the vineyard blends art, architecture, and landscape through its mosaic terraces and vibrant setting. The work reflects an afternoon celebrating a birthday at the vineyard, where sunshine, conversation, and glasses of Casita Miro’s Provence-style rosé shaped the colors and atmosphere translated into the painting.

The composition draws from the mosaiced Bond Bar created by winemaker Barnett Bond, where layered brushstrokes echo the tiled patterns found throughout the property. Pearlescent mineral whites reference the mineral-rich soils beneath the vines, while the palette of soft pinks, warm reds, and sunlit golds reflects the rosé itself. Like the wine, the painting balances brightness with structure, bringing together fruit, earth, sunlight, and sea into a layered memory of place.

Original paintings are created with archival materials and are available for private collection, with larger commissioned interpretations available upon request.
