Twelve Faithful Women: Rahab framed canvas print
$139.00
Rahab’s story unfolds at a threshold—between an old life and an uncertain future, between the walls of Jericho and the promise of something beyond them.
This 12×12 framed art print reproduces an original portrait from Twelve Faithful Women, an ongoing series by Christina Leigh exploring the lives of women whose stories unfold throughout Scripture.
Rahab appears in Joshua 2 as a woman living in Jericho who shelters the Israelite spies and helps them escape. Her decision placed her at considerable risk, yet it also became an act of faith. A scarlet cord hung from her window would mark her household when Jericho fell, becoming one of the most recognizable symbols associated with her story.
Her life did not end with Jericho. Rahab became part of Israel and is later named in the genealogy of Jesus in Matthew 1. Hebrews 11 remembers her among those commended for faith, while James 2 points to the action that accompanied her belief.
The portrait considers Rahab not simply through her past, but through the choice that redirected what came afterward—a woman remembered for courage, action, and faith at a decisive moment.
ABOUT THE SERIES
Twelve Faithful Women explores twelve women of Scripture within the complexity of their individual lives: their choices, circumstances, relationships, uncertainty, courage, and encounters with God.
Each portrait begins with research and Scripture before developing through symbolism, color, and the painting process. Together, the twelve works form a larger meditation on faith expressed through ordinary human lives.
