Twelve Faithful Women: Eve framed canvas print

$139.00
Eve’s story begins in a garden—with creation, relationship, choice, consequence, and the first promise of what would come after.

This 12×12 framed art print reproduces an original portrait from Twelve Faithful Women, an ongoing series by Christina Leigh exploring the lives of women whose stories unfold throughout Scripture.

Created in the image of God and described as the mother of all living, Eve stands at the beginning of the human story. Her life contains both the intimacy of Eden and the rupture that followed the choice to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

Yet Eve’s story does not end with the fall.

Within the judgment pronounced in Genesis 3 appears a promise: the offspring of the woman would ultimately crush the serpent. Before Eve leaves the garden, Scripture therefore holds consequence and hope beside one another.

The portrait considers Eve within that tension—not simply as a symbol of humanity’s first failure, but as a woman who experienced desire, choice, loss, motherhood, grief, and life beyond Eden. She became the mother of generations in a world profoundly different from the one in which her story began.

ABOUT THE SERIES

Twelve Faithful Women explores twelve women of Scripture within the complexity of their individual lives: their choices, circumstances, relationships, faith, uncertainty, courage, and encounters with God.

Each portrait develops through research, Scripture, symbolism, and the painting process. Together, the twelve works form a larger meditation on faith expressed through ordinary human lives.
